Pilates is a system of over 500 exercises developed in the 1920's by Joseph H. Pilates. It is now a movement method focused on stretching & strengthening the body while maintaining balance & alignment. Based upon 6 key principles: Concentration, Centering, Control, Precision, Breathe & Flow. One will move with a concentration on the "power house" which includes the abdominals, pelvis, hips, buttocks & inner thighs. Creating long, lean & uniform muscles and developing flexibility in the spine. Pilates can be practiced on a mat using ones own body for resistance and with the Pilates apparatus such as the Reformer, Cadillac, High Chair, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Pedi-Pole, Foot Corrector & Toe Corrector, which provide spring resistance training.

Jennifer's love for movement extends from her early years as a competitive dancer and gymnast. Her passion for teaching movement started in the late 80's as a dance instructor teaching ballet & jazz classes and as a fitness instructor leading group exercise classes. She found Pilates in 2002. Passionate about this intelligent exercise method she continued a rigorous self practice and then decided to enroll in a Comprehensive training Program under the instruction of Master trainers, Clare Dunphy and Pamela Garcia. After her certification, Jennifer continues to attend regular lessons and continuing education workshops. Her mastery in Pilates has led her to work with many international and national instructors and enjoys mentoring teachers through their certification and beyond. As the studio owner, she enjoys working with clients from the beginner level through the advanced level, guiding them to be better movers through Pilates. She believes Pilates is for EVERYBODY!
